REMARKS BY


Mr. Nelson Henrique Barbosa Filho served as Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of Brazil Government from 2011 to May 2013, where he also served as Secretary of Economic Policy from 2008 to 2010, Secretary of Economic Monitoring from 2007 to 2008, and Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy from 2006 to 2007. He was also Advisor to the Presidency of BNDES from 2005 to 2006, and Deputy Head of the Department of Economics of the Ministry of Planning and Budgeting of Brazil in 2003. Mr. Barbosa Filho also served as Assistant Director of the Center for Economic Policy Analysis of the New School for Social Research from 1998 to 2001, and also as Analyst of the Central Bank of Brazil from 1994 to 1997. He taught classes in Economics in several higher education institutions, such as New School University, Saint Francis College, Fluminense Federal University, and also Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Mr. Barbosa Filho holds Degree and Master's Degree in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a PhD in Economics from New School for Social Research.  (Networking to follow the event)
