Donald A. Norman, Ph.D., is a director of economic studies and council director of the MAPI CFO and Financial Councils. He writes extensively on a broad range of issues, including energy and its implications for the manufacturing sector, conservation and energy efficiency, the determinants of investment, stock market valuations, and benchmarking audit fees. Don is frequently invited to make presentations at industry events, conferences, and corporate meetings, including Siemens, Toyota Materials Handling, Motion Industries, Morgan Advanced Materials, the National Fluid Power Association, and the Aspen Institute’s Manufacturing and Society in the 21st Century.
Don's experience includes economic research and teaching. Before joining MAPI, he was a research manager at the American Petroleum Institute and a staff economist at the Federal Trade Commission. He also taught at the University of California at Santa Barbara and the California State University, Long Beach. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from UCLA, an MBA from George Mason University, and an M.A. and B.A. in economics from UCLA.
